Iqbal Z. Ahmed Chairman and CEO

As the cofounder and chairman of AG, Mr. Ahmed is widely recognized for his entrepreneurship and contributions to Pakistan’s energy sector and economy.

Mr. Ahmed and his companies have been featured in Newsweek International, Forbes, Bloomberg, and CNBC Pakistan. Mr. Ahmed is also the chairman of Newsweek Pakistan. The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry honored Mr. Ahmed with its President of Pakistan trophy in 2012.

Mr. Ahmed serves as the president of the Government College University’s endowment trust fund, as well as the Chairman of the SIMS ( Services Institute of Medical Sciences) in Lahore.

Mr Ahmed has served as the president of King Edward Medical University’s mobilization fund, on the board of the Punjab Red Crescent Society and on the National College of Arts University’s endowment committee. He is a former president of the India-Pakistan World Punjabi Organization, whose patrons include Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Mr. Ahmed also served on the national committee for self-reliance under then-prime minister Nawaz Sharif. From 2000 to 2014, Mr. Ahmed was the elected chairman of the LPG Association of Pakistan (LPGAP).

Mr. Ahmed has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Government College, and a master’s degree in economics from Punjab University.

Qazi Humayun Fareed Vice Chairman

Currently serving as the honorary consul for Bangladesh in Lahore, Mr. Fareed had previously represented Sri Lanka. He is also a board member of the Government College University and the Lahore General Hospital, having previously served on the boards of the Punjab Local Government Commission and the University of Punjab. Mr. Fareed has a degree in economics and political science from the University of Karachi.

Asim Iftikhar Chief Financial Officer

As one of the cofounders of Anjum Asim Shahid Rahman Chartered Accountants, an affiliate of Grant Thornton, Mr. Iftikhar is a widely-regarded chartered accountant with some 36 years of experience. He is a board member of both JJVL and Pakistan GasPort.

Attiq Ahmed Director

The chief executive and principal architect at AEDL, an award-winning architectural practice, Mr. Ahmed has a B. Arch. (Hon.) degree from the National College of Arts University and a master’s degree in urban design and theory from Columbia University. He is the  founder of OCCO, a forum dedicated to urban planning issues. Mr. Ahmed has written on architecture and heritage in the local and foreign press. He has also served as an Associate Professor at the NCA.

Fasih Ahmed Director

Mr Ahmed is the CEO of PGP Consortium Limited, Pakistan’s largest LNG import terminal, and a director of the group companies with extensive experience in sale and marketing, and negotiation of contracts. He founded and was editor of the country’s largest newsmagazine, Newsweek Pakistan, published under license from Newsweek LLC. Ahmed was also editor of Newsweek’s Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMA) edition. He has previously worked at The Wall Street Journal, and won a 2008 New York Press Club award for Newsweek International’s coverage of Benazir Bhutto’s assassination. A graduate of Columbia University, Mr. Ahmed was the inaugural Daniel Pearl fellow and is a recipient of an East-West Institute fellowship.

Razi Ahmed Director

Mr. Ahmed is a ICMA (Institute of Cost and Management Accountants) Pakistan-certified director and is serving as the operations head of the LPG portfolio of the group. Mr. Ahmed has a degree in political science and economics from the University of Chicago and a master’s degree in international energy and policy from Columbia University. He has written for DAWN, Dissent, Huffington Post, Scroll and Open Democracy on political and cultural topics. He has also previously served as a consultant on biogas to the Rural Support Programs Network. Mr. Ahmed is the founder of the Lahore Literary Festival, now the largest cultural event of the city, which has drawn Nobel-prize winners and other acclaimed writers from across the world.

Sadia Ahmed Director

As chairperson of the Zohra and Z. Z. Ahmed Foundation, and director of Pakistan GasPort Limited, Ms. Ahmed leads AG’s philanthropic and corporate-social-responsibility initiatives. Ms. Ahmed has served as the project coordinator for the Women’s Empowerment and Leadership Development for Democratization program at Shirkat Gah, a nongovernmental organization. She has a degree in Economics from the Lahore University of Management Sciences.

Rizwan Fareed Director

Mr. Fareed has over 15 years of management experience. He is also currently a board member at the Punjab Small Industries Corporation. Mr. Fareed has a degree in Commerce from the University of Punjab.
