AG Chairman Iqbal Z. Ahmed was invited to speak at the Forbes Global CEO Conference 2010, “Full Sail Ahead,” held in Sydney, Sept. 28-29, 2010.
The conference focused on how business leaders are determined to go “Full Sail Ahead” in their search for new growth opportunities in volatile times. Panelists examined how CEOs are thriving in adversity, and identifying opportunities across sectors such as energy and commodities, technology and innovation, healthcare, money and investment, as well as media and entertainment. The sessions also featured in-depth discussions on social responsibility and philanthropy, human capital, and leadership.
Hosted by Steve Forbes, chairman and CEO of Forbes Media, the conference was attended by some 400 global business leaders. Speakers included Carlos Slim Helú, chairman, Fundación Telmex; Sir Gordon Wu, chairman, Hopewell Holdings; Mohammad Omran, chairman, Etisalat and Thuraya; and Shaukat Aziz, former prime minister of Pakistan.
Invited by William Adamopoulos, president and publisher of Forbes Asia, Mr. Ahmed was scheduled to speak at the conference on energy and sustainability, and his entrepreneurial approach to supplying power to Pakistan. Mr. Ahmed was unable to attend the conference due to pressing commitments in Pakistan.
