Pakistan GasPort Chairman Iqbal Z. Ahmed attended the Oil and Gas Conference Pakistan (OGCP-2024) in Islamabad on May 29 (Wednesday), showcasing Pakistan’s potential in the energy sector, especially its advancements in domestic production, exploration, and sustainable practices.
Organized by Energy Update in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) and the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the event’s keynote speakers, panelists and distinguished guests included OGRA Chairman Masroor Khan; Iqbal Z. Ahmed; Attock Refinery MD Adil Khattak; OGDCL’s Shahzad Safdar; former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi; Energy Resource Management’s Sarah Kazmi; PEPL’s Sarmad Hassan Shareef; Raziuddin Razi; Dr. Saeed Jadoon; Shahbaz Tahir Nadeem of the Ministry of Energy; and Noor LPG/LPG Marketing Association CEO Bilal Jabbar.
Minister of Energy (Petroleum Division) Dr. Musaddiq Malik, and Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal served as guests at the occasion.
The conference aimed to explore strategies for enhancing Pakistan’s energy security, reducing the country’s import reliance, and promoting local energy resources. It featured several sessions covering the key themes, including exploration and production strategies; renewable energy integration; regulatory frameworks; technological advancements; and investment opportunities.
